State and Federal Court Rules

Court Rules:  Federal court procedural statutes and rules may be found in Title 28 of the United States Code, and online.  Local procedural rules for the District Courts may also be researched online. As noted in the Introduction to this Guide, state procedural rules are applicable to FELA actions brought in state courts.  Pennsylvania Court Rules may be found in Title 42 of Purdon’s Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes Annotated (online version available on Westlaw).  Some suggested resources for federal and Pennsylvania court rules are presented below; other court rules may be found online or using the Library’s OPAC:
