Professor Doris Brogan, as a Villanova law student, authored the comment The Battered Spouse Syndrome as a Defense to a Homicide Charge under the Pennsylvania Crimes Code, 26 VILL. L. REV. 105 (1980).  This work has been cited in eight cases, including two of the lead Pennsylvania Supreme Court cases on the issue, Com. v. Stonehouse, 555 A.2d 772, 521 Pa. 41 (1989) & Com. v. Dillon, 528 Pa. 417, 598 A.2d 963 (1991).
