This "Scholarly Impact Score" system was pioneered by the University of Chicago's Brian Leitner and further refined by the University of St. Thomas' Gregory Sisk. Leiter's methodology used the mean and median citations of "top tenured faculty" for the past five years. Data was collected from Westlaw's law journal database.
